BCG's 2nd Annual "Turkey Talk" Open House & Food Drive Benefits Palos Township Food Pantry
Over 660 non-perishable items and $50 in cash donations were collected Monday, November 23rd, at the second annual “Turkey Talk” open house and food drive. “Turkey Talk,” sponsored and hosted by Barcelona Creative Group at their offices in Palos Heights, creates an opportunity for business people throughout the Chicago area to get together, “talk a little turkey” and kick off the holiday season by helping those in need.
Palos Heights, Orland Park and Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce members, BCG clients and business associates, family and friends came out to share a little holiday cheer. Those who attended were asked to bring a food item for the Palos Township Emergency Food Pantry. In 2008, contributions were given to the Orland Township Food Pantry. “Our food pantry has had a difficult time meeting increased demand throughout this entire year,” stated Colleen Schumann, Palos Township Supervisor. “Thanks to the support of Barcelona Creative Group and their generous guests, we will be able to help needy families this Christmas.”
“When we heard that the Palos Township Food Pantry was concerned about making it through the holidays, we decided to help them this year. The overwhelming response we continue to receive from the community has encouraged us to continue hosting Turkey Talk as an annual event,” said Thomas Barcelona, President of Barcelona Creative Group. The event will occur each year on the Monday before Thanksgiving.
