Palos Heights Public Library Prepares For 65th Anniversary Celebration
Palos Heights, IL - What do you get an old friend for their 65th birthday? Finding the right gift is always a challenge, but Barcelona Creative Group has found the perfect way to help the Palos Heights Public Library celebrate the milestone - by designing it's 65th anniversary logo.
This logo is the latest strategy the Palos Heights Public Library has implemented to stay current and strengthen its brand. Like other area non-profits, they have partnered with Barcelona Creative Group to recreate their website, enhance their bi-monthly newsletter and adopt a new brand identity, including their logo and stationary.
"These days, partnering with a local marketing firm is a very efficient way to work," said Elaine Savage, Administrative Librarian. "We can focus on our patrons and our service to the community and let Barcelona Creative Group focus on our marketing communications. Their creative resources and local area knowledge give us that edge that we may not otherwise have."
If a patron from 1944 could see the Library today, they would not believe their eyes. What started as a volunteer community library in one room of the Walter Ward home, now boasts over 31,000 square feet. Circulation has increased from 100 books in May of 1944 to over 150,000 items today and more than 7,000 active card holders.
In 1944, computers were in the earliest stages of development, used strictly for military purposes. No one had even dreamed of a website. A library newsletter would have been done by hand and duplicated on a mimeograph machine.
Today the Palos Heights Public Library uses its website, printed and electronic newsletter and local media to keep its community informed. Barcelona Creative Group is honored to have a part in helping with some of these communications. Their working relationship with the Library began in 2006 and they are proud of what the partnership has accomplished since then.
