BCG Helps the Publicity Club of Chicago "Tweet Up"!

pcc_tlogoThe Publicity Club of Chicago hosted their very first Tweet Up over the summer. PCC is always looking for new ways to offer their members networking events. Hosting a tweet up allowed PCC to invite members, non-members, students and media professionals to come together at a free event and spend a couple of hours getting to know one another.

Barcelona Creative Group teamed up with PCC to co-sponsor the event. As co-sponsor BCG created the tweet up logo and helped promote the event through Twitter and Facebook. With help from Big Teeth Productions and Tim Jahn, a video recapping the evening is now viewable on the PCC website, as well as the PCC Facebook fan page and the BCG Facebook fan page.

The event was such a success that PCC is hosting another tweet up on Wednesday, January 27th at Firkin & Pheasant in Lincoln Park from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. BCG will be in attendance and this time around, our friends at Big Shoes Network will be co-sponsoring the event. BCG was happy to update the logo for the event.

Small Business Marketing is Affordable and Effective with Online Social Media

Online social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter are great ways to jump start word-of-mouth about your company's products and services. You can generate buzz around your business without spending an enormous amount of money. With social media, companies can harness the combined power of word-of-mouth and the Internet.

Social networking also goes beyond email marketing by allowing you to instantly share and discuss professional information with a larger group of people. If you need help or have a question, social networking can save an enormous amount of time because all you have to do is send out a "Tweet" or ask on Facebook and chances are someone will respond quickly.

Combine Social Media with Traditional Marketing Strategies
The most effective use of social media is making it an integral part of your overall traditional marketing strategy. Tools like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter allow your business to build an ever-expanding network of acquaintances and communicate with them quickly and frequently. They can also improve a business's presence online. Combining social media marketing with traditional marketing strategies - advertising, corporate website and blog, email marketing and public relations - allows you to build a consistent message around your brand.
